Willie Roberson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chi Calvert having to interfere. Chi Calvert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilson Hughes, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Hugh Labbé sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The attack was good, but when Urbain Dominguez in the 9th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. When Kelligrews's Urbain Dominguez in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lucerne's goalie prevented a goal. The Kelligrews fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Kelligrews's Urbain Dominguez looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Willie Roberson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lucerne's supporters rose to their feet, but Willie Roberson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chi Calvert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Wilson Hughes came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Lucerne fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilson Hughes couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugh Labbé in the 24th minute of play forced Lucerne's goalkeeper Theron Dickens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th match minute, Lucerne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ned Fremont to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilson Hughes in the 28th minute of play forced Kelligrews's goalkeeper Chi Calvert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 31 played minutes Kelligrews got a freekick which was hit by Blair Mackey. Chi Calvert stood somewhat misplaced when Willie Roberson came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 36 minute. If Hugh Labbé had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Gilbert Koch came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Kelligrews fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilbert Koch couldn't finish the play. Hugh Labbé recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wilson Hughes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Kelligrews got a freekick which was hit by Karl Whitaker. Willie Roberson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Chi Calvert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nick Priest kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 69th minute of the game. One of Kelligrews:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lucerne:s goal. Chi Calvert went to the wrong direction when Courtney Gosselin was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 74th match minute, Kelligrews was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Chacon to maneuver through the defense. Chi Calvert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Willie Roberson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hugh Labbé recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chi Calvert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Willie Roberson in the 86th minute of the match. 93 minutes into the match, Wilson Hughes notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Kelligrews's Chi Calvert. Chi Calvert was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lucerne's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
