Forward's Gale Sutherland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kelvin Maurer in the 85th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Benedict Allain managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chatfield FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Benedict Allain was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gale Sutherland breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kelvin Maurer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gale Sutherland read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. After recieving a nice pass, Forward's Dwayne Bonneville tried to score from far away in the 92nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Benedict Allain got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Forward eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
