Barton Winter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Landon Fry, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Irma's Antonio Wheeler got control of the ball when Benedict Allain tried to sneak it across the goal line. Irma's Antonio Wheeler proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Irma from getting a goal against them. Al Cordero charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Al Cordero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Irma booed when Chatfield FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Al Cordero didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Al Cordero was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 35 minutes had been played. In the 36th minute, Al Cordero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Landon Fry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barton Winter having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Chatfield FC's zone, Landon Fry stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Barton Winter came out of the goal and Landon Fry tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benedict Allain to make the kick off. Nicodème Denton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 58 minutes into the match, Irma's goal looked a bit too open when Benedict Allain came free, but Antonio Wheeler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antonio Wheeler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedict Allain in the 62nd minute of play. Irma's Landon Fry got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Benedict Allain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Irma's zone, Benedict Allain stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antonio Wheeler came out of the goal and Benedict Allain tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kelvin Maurer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Benedict Allain's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Antonio Wheeler was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. If Tyler Richey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
