Derick Loiseau was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When Jacinto Meunier came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Cloverdale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacinto Meunier couldn't finish the play. Evrard Cameron struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Wilburn Bonner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cloverdale. In the 21st minute of the match, Samuel Whitney tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Wilburn Bonner saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Derick Loiseau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matthew Lay in the 26th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Evrard Cameron during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bernard Laprise fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derick Loiseau having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Vaughn Salinas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 37 minutes into the match, Cloverdale's goal looked a bit too open when Jarod Rowley came free, but Derick Loiseau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Derick Loiseau stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matthew Lay's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Samuel Whitney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 46 minutes into the match, Macalister's goalkeeper Wilburn Bonner had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jacinto Meunier. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matthew Lay made a kick off. Matthew Lay's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Derick Loiseau read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. In the 55th minute, Bernard Laprise collided with one of Cloverdale's players - so bad that he fractured his nose. When Vaughn Salinas fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cloverdale's protests and gave Vaughn Salinas a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Macalister booed when Cloverdale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vaughn Salinas didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Samuel Whitney's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilburn Bonner was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Samuel Whitney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilburn Bonner having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Macalister fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 70th minute. Penalty! In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Macalister's goalkeeper Wilburn Bonner, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Wilburn Bonner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Whitney, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Whitney in the 88th minute of play forced Macalister's goalkeeper Wilburn Bonner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Derick Loiseau made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Jarod Rowley sent off a good shot on target. In the 95th minute, Jarod Rowley reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Derick Loiseau. The goal made the score 1-2. In the 99th minute Jacinto Meunier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilburn Bonner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Macalister supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Macalister would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
