The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Columbus Lopez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Whitney, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. The Derick Loiseau was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Evrard Cameron kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Derick Loiseau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valéry Schneider, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Samuel Whitney in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Columbus Lopez saved Dupuy from getting behind. Chad Hutchinson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Derick Loiseau tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cloverdale's Derick Loiseau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valéry Schneider in the 27th minute of play. Dupuy's Columbus Lopez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Dupuy from getting a goal against them. Jacinto Meunier came free with the goalkeeper in the 30th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Columbus Lopez could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Whitney in the 34th minute of play forced Dupuy's goalkeeper Columbus Lopez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Columbus Lopez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuel Whitney in the 39th minute of the match. Valéry Schneider's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Derick Loiseau read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valéry Schneider made a kick off. The supporters of Cloverdale booed when Dupuy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yann Nugent didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Whitney in the 61st minute of play forced Dupuy's goalkeeper Columbus Lopez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cloverdale's zone, Chad Hutchinson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Derick Loiseau came out of the goal and Chad Hutchinson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 70 played minutes Dupuy got a freekick which was hit by David Giguère. Samuel Whitney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Columbus Lopez having to interfere. Columbus Lopez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Whitney, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. After having played for 78 minutes, Jacinto Meunier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cloverdale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacinto Meunier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Columbus Lopez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuel Whitney in the 79th minute of the match. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cloverdale's goalkeeper Derick Loiseau, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Valéry Schneider had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Samuel Whitney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 97th minute Vaughn Salinas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Columbus Lopez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Dupuy players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Cloverdale.
