The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 9 minutes into the match, Marvin Ruth had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Allen Dostie. Tobermory's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marvin Ruth was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 12 minutes, Malcolm Parnell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tobermory and the Magpie players grew even worse after the yellow card. Malcolm Parnell hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. 14 minutes into the match, Tobermory's goal looked a bit too open when Normand Nichols came free, but Allen Dostie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute, Tobermory's Aldo Holmes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Markus Shah. Markus Shah yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Normand Nichols took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Allen Dostie. Allen Dostie dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Markus Shah showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aldo Holmes in the 25th minute of the match. A collision led to Tobermory getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Fabrice Escobedo hit a great ball. With a little luck, Magpie's Markus Shah got control of the ball when Pascal Patrick tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Tobermory booed when Magpie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Connie Emerson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Normand Nichols sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marvin Ruth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Allen Dostie having to interfere. When Magpie's Marvin Ruth in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tobermory's goalie prevented a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marvin Ruth made a kick off. Pascal Patrick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Markus Shah having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aldo Holmes in the 55th minute of play forced Magpie's goalkeeper Markus Shah to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Allen Dostie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Normand Nichols in the 57th minute. Normand Nichols struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Allen Dostie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Magpie. 60 minutes into the game, Connie Emerson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Magpie's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tobermory the free kick. Connie Emerson kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Normand Nichols ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Allen Dostie was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. 77 minutes into the game, Fabrice Escobedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tobermory's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Magpie the free kick. 84 minutes into the match, Magpie's goal looked a bit too open when Aldo Holmes came free, but Markus Shah reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pascal Patrick scored 2-3 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Markus Shah, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Allen Dostie made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Normand Nichols sent off a good shot on target. Magpie's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
