Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Rolando Boyce got the match started through his kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Aldo Holmes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tobermory's supporters rose to their feet, but Aldo Holmes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valéry Berthiaume breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 10th minute Pascal Patrick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valéry Berthiaume saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Shelton Lott's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Allen Dostie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Rolando Boyce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Allen Dostie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pascal Patrick hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Tobermory's zone, Shelton Lott stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Allen Dostie came out of the goal and Shelton Lott tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 27 minutes, Werner Hart mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tobermory and the Laird AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Laird AFC booed when Tobermory was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Werner Hart didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tobermory's Pascal Patrick got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Laird AFC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Gaston Coon hit a great ball. Pascal Patrick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Valéry Berthiaume tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aldo Holmes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aldo Holmes was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Tobermory's goalkeeper Allen Dostie, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Tobermory's Waldo Latham got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Rolando Boyce blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Allen Dostie having to make a save. 55 minutes into the match, Gaston Coon notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Tobermory's Allen Dostie. Allen Dostie was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aldo Holmes in the 58th minute of play forced Laird AFC's goalkeeper Valéry Berthiaume to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Valéry Berthiaume managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when Tobermory's Pascal Patrick fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 61st minute, Freddie Marier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Aldo Holmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rolando Boyce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Allen Dostie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valéry Berthiaume stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Waldo Latham's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Tobermory's Allen Dostie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shelton Lott in the 77th minute of play. Rolando Boyce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Allen Dostie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd match minute, Tobermory was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Millard Sousa to maneuver through the defense. Rolando Boyce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 88th minute Shelton Lott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Allen Dostie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, Shelton Lott notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Tobermory's Allen Dostie. Allen Dostie was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Shelton Lott might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Allen Dostie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Shelton Lott ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Tobermory getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Fabrice Escobedo hit a great ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, Laird AFC could leave the field as winners, despite Tobermory having more of the ball for most of the match.
