Spectators: 6715 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1715, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Marvin Ruth kicked off to start the match. After a rather tough play, Magpie's Bruce Buckley got a free kick in the 4th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Magpie's zone, Shelton Lott stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Markus Shah came out of the goal and Shelton Lott tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 14th minute, Freeman Austin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rodney Arellano, 15 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Normand Nichols's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valéry Berthiaume read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, Renaud Moreland was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Magpie's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Laird AFC the free kick. In the 26th minute, Renaud Moreland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Magpie's Normand Nichols got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 33rd match minute, Laird AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaston Coon to maneuver through the defense. If Shelton Lott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute, Rolando Boyce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 45 minutes into the match, Magpie's goalkeeper Markus Shah had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Shelton Lott. Valéry Berthiaume didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Normand Nichols went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Rolando Boyce made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Rolando Boyce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Laird AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rolando Boyce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Markus Shah breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Normand Nichols sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ignacio Negron was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 74 minutes into the match. After 73 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Laird AFC! Renaud Moreland shot the penalty kick right outside the post. In the 78th minute, Connie Emerson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Laird AFC's zone, Normand Nichols stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valéry Berthiaume came out of the goal and Normand Nichols tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 88 minutes into the match, Laird AFC's goalkeeper Valéry Berthiaume had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Normand Nichols. Markus Shah showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shelton Lott, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. If Shelton Lott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th match minute, Magpie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruce Buckley to maneuver through the defense. Laird AFC's Shelton Lott got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Laird AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Magpie's performance. The match ended with a win for Magpie.
