An unexpected shot in the 24th minute by Jimmie Kenny got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 26th minute Pasquale Storey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arthur Alonzo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Gascons's Ronny Caron got a free kick in the 34th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jimmie Kenny got free with Ricardo Mooney in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Jimmie Kenny had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 42 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Damon Peterson sped through Gascons's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Arthur Alonzo. Jimmie Kenny received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Ricardo Mooney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the match clock showed 51 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Jimmie Kenny sped through Cardigan AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ricardo Mooney. The audience was convinced that Damon Peterson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arthur Alonzo was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Gascons defense, Pasquale Storey kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arthur Alonzo. The Gascons fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arthur Alonzo should have stopped the shot. Cardigan AFC's Damon Peterson got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Jimmie Kenny sped through Cardigan AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ricardo Mooney. 70 minutes into the game, Damon Peterson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Arthur Alonzo. Damon Peterson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-3. In the 79th minute there was a penalty for Gascons. Rufus Wilkerson stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ricardo Mooney. 4-3. Ricardo Mooney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Warren Woodward, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Warren Woodward in the 87th minute of play forced Cardigan AFC's goalkeeper Ricardo Mooney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arthur Alonzo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pasquale Storey in the 94th minute. Arthur Alonzo came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Cardigan AFC's Damon Peterson. But to his dismay, Damon Peterson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-4. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
