With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gérard Stiles in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Duncan Devoe saved Chester from getting behind. In the 23rd minute Hervé Grimm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angel Caisse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dalton Benjamin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dalton Benjamin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Lucerne AFC booed when Chester was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vance Trejo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Duncan Devoe acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 32nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Donny Stanley. The wind increased when Dalton Benjamin made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emmitt Compton got free with Angel Caisse in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 73 minutes into the match, Lucerne AFC's Ron Mabry sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Duncan Devoe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dalton Benjamin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ron Mabry scored 1-1 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Duncan Devoe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
