Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Blue started the match with the kick off. Reuben Kimbrough fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wesley Joyce having to interfere. In the 8th minute Daniel Blue shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wesley Joyce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes in the game, Pons Gonzales dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Wesley Joyce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reuben Kimbrough, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 20 minutes of play, Kelso's Daniel Blue made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wesley Joyce was left in no man's land by his defense there! Reuben Kimbrough struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Wesley Joyce didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kelso. Carrol Goldberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pons Gonzales in the 26th minute of play. Reuben Kimbrough sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pons Gonzales received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Carrol Goldberg came out and tried to block the shot, but Pons Gonzales slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 29th minute. The supporters of Kelso booed when Cumberland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacques McNair didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carrol Goldberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pons Gonzales in the 35th minute of play. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cumberland's goalkeeper Wesley Joyce, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Daniel Blue fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wesley Joyce having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Blue in the 43rd minute of play forced Cumberland's goalkeeper Wesley Joyce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Reuben Kimbrough came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Kelso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reuben Kimbrough couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pons Gonzales stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Reuben Kimbrough sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wesley Joyce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Blue, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cumberland's Wesley Joyce proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Cumberland from getting a goal against them. Wesley Joyce stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Blue's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. In the 91st minute Pons Gonzales shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carrol Goldberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Cumberland were victorious despite being under pressure from Kelso for much of the match.
