The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Manchester United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Matane the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Manchester United's zone, Roch Farrell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maria Hampton came out of the goal and Roch Farrell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reinaldo Boyer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Maria Hampton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Matane could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Manchester United throughout the match.
