The referee ignored FC Edmonton's protests and gave Patrick Gingras a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, FC Edmonton's Patrick Gingras got a free kick in the 5th minute. Del Fluet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chuck Chappell in the 7th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in FC Edmonton's zone, Benny Moser stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shelton Cliche came out of the goal and Benny Moser tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Del Fluet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chuck Chappell, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Del Fluet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lewis Marino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the game, FC Edmonton's Monty Kitchen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Del Fluet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Del Fluet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chuck Chappell, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 26th match minute, FC Edmonton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardo Chavez to maneuver through the defense. Paschal Hicks made in the 29th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Manchester FC's Jean Whitmore. After a rather tough play, Manchester FC's Olen Kirby got a free kick in the 34th minute. Del Fluet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chuck Chappell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Benny Moser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manchester FC's Jean Whitmore managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Robby Collier in the 42 minute of the game. In the 43rd play minute Benny Moser came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Shelton Cliche. 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Benny Moser made the kick off in the second half. Manchester FC's Del Fluet proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Manchester FC from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lewis Marino got free with Del Fluet in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Manchester FC were furious when Olen Kirby was red carded, 60 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Manchester FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 60th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Del Fluet, was totally fooled by FC Edmonton's Robby Collier, who 63 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. With a little luck, Manchester FC's Del Fluet got control of the ball when Monty Kitchen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Del Fluet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chuck Chappell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Edmonton's Robby Collier shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 72nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Del Fluet but with some difficulty. In the 77th minute, Benny Moser got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 79 played minutes FC Edmonton got a freekick which was hit by Paschal Hicks. The audience thought a goal was coming when Monty Kitchen got free with Del Fluet in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Manchester FC's Jean Whitmore managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ricardo Chavez in the 83 minute of the game. In the 89th minute Patrick Gingras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Del Fluet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lewis Marino received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Del Fluet came out and tried to block the shot, but Lewis Marino slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 90th minute. Lewis Marino kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Del Fluet made an important save on a dangerous shot by Monty Kitchen in the 96th minute. The FC Edmonton supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Edmonton would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
