The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 12 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Harriston FC's Elijah Wise fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Simcoe FC's Eric Siegel got a free kick in the 14th minute. Léopold Ransom was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 15th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Odis Petrie in the 17th minute of play forced Harriston FC's goalkeeper Anatole Hardy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th match minute, Harriston FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Édouard Denis to maneuver through the defense. 21 minutes into the game, Harriston FC's Carol Brunson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Walton Moore made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Carol Brunson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claude Kay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Anatole Hardy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anatole Hardy didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claude Kay went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. A hard shot 36 in the game by Odis Petrie from a close distance when the talented Anatole Hardy managed to make a qualified save. Harriston FC's players were relieved. The supporters of Simcoe FC booed when Harriston FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Édouard Denis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Odis Petrie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anatole Hardy having to interfere. Claude Kay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anatole Hardy having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Odis Petrie in the 43rd minute of play forced Harriston FC's goalkeeper Anatole Hardy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Odis Petrie to make the kick off. Anatole Hardy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thad Dick, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. If Odis Petrie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute, Odis Petrie made a precise shot to the right of Anatole Hardy. Harriston FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Simcoe FC's Walton Moore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carol Brunson in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th match minute, Simcoe FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Siegel to maneuver through the defense. Anatole Hardy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claude Kay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Claude Kay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Odis Petrie came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Simcoe FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Odis Petrie couldn't finish the play. In the 77th minute Claude Kay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anatole Hardy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Carol Brunson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Harriston FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Carol Brunson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walton Moore breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Odis Petrie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Anatole Hardy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Claude Kay left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Simcoe FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. After 92 played minutes Simcoe FC got a freekick which was hit by Thad Dick. Claude Kay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Simcoe FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
