Randy Little made an important save on a dangerous shot by Celal Dündaroğlu in the 9th minute. Séverin Thorne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Randy Little tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celal Dündaroğlu might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Randy Little. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Celal Dündaroğlu ran back to his position shaking his head. Sandwich AFC's Merrill Humphries got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Merrill Humphries in the 15th minute of play forced NDG United's goalkeeper Earnest Crews to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Merrill Humphries had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Earnest Crews. NDG United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Merrill Humphries was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 27 minutes into the game, Merrill Humphries cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Earnest Crews was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. NDG United's Earnest Crews played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nathaniel Clément in the 34th minute of play. Celal Dündaroğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Randy Little having to interfere. Celal Dündaroğlu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Randy Little tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

NDG United's Celal Dündaroğlu got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 54th minute, Merrill Humphries ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Earnest Crews was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. 57 minutes into the match, Sandwich AFC's Garret Stover sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Earnest Crews narrowly saved just below the crossbar. NDG United's Earnest Crews proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save NDG United from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in NDG United's zone, Merrill Humphries stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Earnest Crews came out of the goal and Merrill Humphries tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Herbert Hills had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Garret Stover managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sandwich AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Garret Stover was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Earnest Crews breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Sandwich AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
