Bobbie Woodruff took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Arnoldo Courtois. Macklini's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Karl Champagne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the game, Porfirio Simpson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Vancouver Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Macklini the free kick. After 31 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Real Vancouver Club! Benedict Hyatt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnoldo Courtois having to interfere. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Macklini's goalkeeper Arnoldo Courtois, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arnoldo Courtois made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedict Hyatt in the 47th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benedict Hyatt was the one to do the kick off. Arnoldo Courtois made an important save on a dangerous shot by Douglass Jeffers in the 57th minute. In the 63rd minute, Douglass Jeffers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jorge Smiley hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Douglass Jeffers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Vancouver Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Douglass Jeffers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnoldo Courtois breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Errol Lessard fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Vancouver Club's protests and gave Errol Lessard a yellow card for diving instead. After 70 played minutes Real Vancouver Club got a freekick which was hit by Errol Lessard. 77 minutes into the match, Macklini's Rodolphe Castaneda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mikel Fisher narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Benedict Hyatt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benedict Hyatt struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Arnoldo Courtois didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Vancouver Club. Karl Champagne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mikel Fisher having to interfere. Real Vancouver Club were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Macklini to leave the ground with a draw.
