In the 83rd minute Rodolphe Castaneda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeo Sterling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norris Braxton in the 85th minute of play forced Macklini's goalkeeper Arnoldo Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Margarito Lajoie might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnoldo Courtois. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
