Chase Morales was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 9th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ali Holt in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dewayne Olson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of CANADA booed when Tlell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dee Dickens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dewayne Olson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honoré Veronneau in the 34th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Norman Terry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loup Hong having to interfere. When Ali Holt came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the CANADA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ali Holt couldn't finish the play. CANADA's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
