The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedict Hyatt in the 3rd minute of play forced Bilby's goalkeeper Otto Varner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Otto Varner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedict Hyatt, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 32ndth minute of the game Vicente Carey who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Vancouver Club's Mikel Fisher was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 38th minute Vicente Carey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikel Fisher saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Otto Varner made an important save on a dangerous shot by Douglass Jeffers in the 43rd minute. Taylor Déziel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mikel Fisher having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

56 minutes into the match, Real Vancouver Club's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Carey came free, but Mikel Fisher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Vicente Carey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mckinley Dooley kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Otto Varner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Douglass Jeffers in the 78th minute of play. 85 minutes into the game, Josiah Grant recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mikel Fisher. Josiah Grant showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After some careless play in the Bilby defense, Benedict Hyatt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Otto Varner. The Bilby fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Otto Varner should have stopped the shot. When Errol Lessard fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Vancouver Club's protests and gave Errol Lessard a yellow card for diving instead. Errol Lessard hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match.
