In the 7th minute, Vicente Carey reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Loup Hong. The goal made the score 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Honoré Veronneau in the 13th minute of play forced Bilby's goalkeeper Otto Varner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute, Ali Holt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CANADA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. If Kenton Sneed had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 22 played minutes CANADA got a freekick which was hit by Chase Morales. CANADA's Loup Hong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Carey in the 23rd minute of play. After 24 played minutes Bilby got a freekick which was hit by Taylor Déziel. Ali Holt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otto Varner having to interfere. If Honoré Veronneau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bilby were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after CANADA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Vicente Carey took the corner. The corner led Bilby's Vicente Carey to fire away a dangerous shot which Loup Hong despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Otto Varner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honoré Veronneau in the 44th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in CANADA's zone, Vicente Carey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Loup Hong came out of the goal and Vicente Carey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 62nd minute, Taylor Déziel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 63 played minutes CANADA got a freekick which was hit by Dale Fuentes. Bilby's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CANADA the free kick. Hilario Talbot kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ali Holt got free with Otto Varner in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Loup Hong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Taylor Déziel in the 97th minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the CANADA players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
