Atnarko AFC's Tanner Stone got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lupe Fontaine in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilbert Berg saved Atnarko AFC from getting behind. Perry Keller fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilbert Berg having to interfere. FC Montreal 2012's Lupe Fontaine got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Perry Keller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, FC Montreal 2012's Daryl Gilliam got a free kick in the 46th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Amédée Deschamps's late challenge caught a FC Montreal 2012's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amédée Deschamps helped the player get up and apologised. Amédée Deschamps kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match.
