Dwight Guidry made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Arpin in the 3rd minute of play. A collision led to Iona getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Alec Stratton hit a great ball. Edmond Carrasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilmer Therrien hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute, Justin Lowry made a precise shot to the right of Dwight Guidry. Langley FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 23 minutes into the match, Langley FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Arpin came free, but Dwight Guidry reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute Edmond Carrasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clément McMullen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 played minutes Iona got a freekick which was hit by Alec Stratton. Kelley Kitchen took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 28th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Clément McMullen. Iona's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Clément McMullen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmond Carrasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jan Arpin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dwight Guidry having to interfere. Russel Ewing sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute, Jan Arpin fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Dwight Guidry, passed just outside the right post. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmond Carrasco was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Edmond Carrasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clément McMullen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan Arpin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Russel Ewing came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Langley FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Russel Ewing couldn't finish the play. Justin Lowry recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Duane Seymour charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Duane Seymour the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Duane Seymour kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. After 77 played minutes Iona got a freekick which was hit by Alec Stratton. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Coleman Kaiser during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Edmond Carrasco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Langley FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmond Carrasco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clément McMullen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Langley FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Iona.
