When Jan Arpin came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Iona fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan Arpin couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Justin Lowry got free with Wilbert Berg in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 28th minute Tanner Stone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clément McMullen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes into the game, Alec Stratton recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Wilbert Berg. Alec Stratton showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. In the 45th minute of the match Gavin Land shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Clément McMullen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

Justin Lowry's late challenge caught a Atnarko AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Justin Lowry helped the player get up and apologised. In the 53rd match minute, Iona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justin Lowry to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Atnarko AFC booed when Iona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thad Patenaude didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teddy Bernier came free with the goalkeeper in the 92nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Clément McMullen could save by the left post. Tanner Stone was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 93rd minute. Atnarko AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Teddy Berniers short, quick shot in the 94thth minute got Clément McMullen to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Amédée Deschamps charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amédée Deschamps the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Iona booed when Atnarko AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amédée Deschamps didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
