Seating: 1862, VIP seats: 161) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Devin Provencher got the match started through his kick off. Clément McMullen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Devin Provencher's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. 4 minutes into the match, Brooks Coffey had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Clément McMullen. Iona's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brooks Coffey was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The supporters of Vassan booed when Iona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alec Stratton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clément McMullen came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Vassan's Brooks Coffey. But to his dismay, Brooks Coffey quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Devin Provencher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Clément McMullen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brooks Coffey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Arpin in the 30th minute of play forced Vassan's goalkeeper Sylvester Proctor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Devin Provencher in the 35th minute of play forced Iona's goalkeeper Clément McMullen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brooks Coffey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 43 played minutes Iona got a freekick which was hit by Alec Stratton. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
The wind increased when Jan Arpin made the kick off in the second half. Justin Lowry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Sylvester Proctor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Clément McMullen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brooks Coffey went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 61st match minute, Vassan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jc Gilmore to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Iona booed when Vassan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jc Gilmore didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iona's Clément McMullen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Devin Provencher in the 66th minute of play. Devin Provencher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Clément McMullen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Justin Lowry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sylvester Proctor having to interfere. After 74 minutes, Thad Patenaude mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Iona and the Vassan players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Vassan booed when Iona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thad Patenaude didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Vassan's Winfred Flood broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 77th minute Devin Provencher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clément McMullen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Devin Provencher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Brooks Coffey kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Clément McMullen. That made the score 0-4 in the 86 minute of play. Iona's Clément McMullen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Iona from getting a goal against them. When the match was over Vassan could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Iona throughout the match.
