An unexpectedly hard shot by Max Larivière in the 5th minute of play forced Laval Kings's goalkeeper Trevor Hess to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trevor Hess took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Max Larivière, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 11 played minutes Laval Kings got a freekick which was hit by Darin Allred. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Freeman Stratton during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Laval Kings booed when Torbay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freeman Stratton didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute Max Larivière shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trevor Hess saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Max Larivière managed to get in a good position for a shot. Torbay's supporters rose to their feet, but Max Larivière was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Trevor Hess breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Trevor Hess tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Irvin Sandoval kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erwin Dawkins to make the kick off. Laval Kings's Trevor Hess played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erwin Dawkins in the 55th minute of play. After some careless play in the Laval Kings defense, Max Larivière kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Trevor Hess. The Laval Kings fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Trevor Hess should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Darin Allred's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sergio Cantrell was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Through an outstanding action, after 76 minutes, Trevor Hess successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Max Larivière in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Trevor Hess, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Erwin Dawkins received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Laval Kings's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Torbay the free kick. The supporters of Torbay booed when Laval Kings was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lemuel Childs didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Laval Kings's zone, Erwin Dawkins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trevor Hess came out of the goal and Erwin Dawkins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Laval Kings's Trevor Hess proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Laval Kings from getting a goal against them. Trevor Hess made an important save on a dangerous shot by Max Larivière in the 87th minute. Trevor Hess showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erwin Dawkins in the 96th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Erwin Dawkins kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Trevor Hess. That made the score 0-5 in the 97 minute of play. Torbay's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
