Josef Turcotte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Foreman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Paris Saint-Germain's zone, Fernando Foreman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Josef Turcotte came out of the goal and Fernando Foreman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fernando Foreman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josef Turcotte having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, Paris Saint-Germain's goal looked a bit too open when Dannie Sylvester came free, but Josef Turcotte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute, Athletic Club Academical's Fernando Foreman dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Maximo Lawler kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. If Rickey Boston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Issac Posey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 42nd minute, Fernando Foreman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Darell Perry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josef Turcotte having to interfere. A hard shot 45 in the game by Rickey Boston from a close distance when the talented Josef Turcotte managed to make a qualified save. Paris Saint-Germain's players were relieved. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dannie Sylvester stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Paris Saint-Germain getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Bryant Lawson hit a great ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Athletic Club Academical fully deserved thier win.
