Alonzo Arcouet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcus Wilcox's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. When Tracey Burr fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Madoc's protests and gave Tracey Burr a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of SC Madoc:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Dayton:s goal. In the 13th minute there was a penalty for Dayton. Karl Cowan stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alonzo Arcouet. 0-1. SC Madoc's Alonzo Arcouet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Wilcox in the 17th minute of play. Daniel Beaulé made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Patrick Querry sent off a good shot on target. Marcus Wilcox received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Alonzo Arcouet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Henry Vincent received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Daniel Beaulé took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Russell Beck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alejandro Hamilton's late challenge caught a SC Madoc's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alejandro Hamilton helped the player get up and apologised. Alejandro Hamilton kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Daniel Beaulé took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry Vincent, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laverne Whittaker during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 53 played minutes Dayton got a freekick which was hit by Laverne Whittaker. In the 55th minute of the match Stanton Hyatt sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Daniel Beaulé skillfully saved the ball. After 59 minutes, Patrick Querry mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Madoc and the Dayton players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Madoc's Patrick Querry got a free kick in the 59th minute. Marcus Wilcox who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of Alonzo Arcouet when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Dayton booed when SC Madoc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Vincent didn't get a good kick on the ball. 65 minutes into the game, Philip Jameson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Madoc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dayton the free kick. In the 65th match minute, SC Madoc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Philip Jameson to maneuver through the defense. Dayton's Daniel Beaulé played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henry Vincent in the 72nd minute of play. In the 75th minute, Russell Beck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Matthew Combs hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. SC Madoc's Isidro Hawley got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Marcus Wilcox came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Dayton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcus Wilcox couldn't finish the play. Henry Vincent struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Daniel Beaulé didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Madoc. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henry Vincent in the 86th minute of play forced Dayton's goalkeeper Daniel Beaulé to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Dayton's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Querry came free, but Daniel Beaulé reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SC Madoc's Russell Beck got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Dayton supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Dayton would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
