Courtney Bolden made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Hayden Harrison sent off a good shot on target. In the 7thth minute of the game Bruno Metz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Academy's Courtney Bolden was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hiram Hamm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Courtney Bolden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Academy's zone, Bruno Metz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Courtney Bolden came out of the goal and Bruno Metz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 12 minutes into the match, Lamar Riddle notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Savanne's Mark Erickson. Mark Erickson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bruno Metz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Academy's Damien Alvarez got a free kick in the 19th minute. Savanne's Terrence Dias managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Issac Torres in the 20 minute of the game. In the 22nd match minute, Savanne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michel Foster to maneuver through the defense. Lyndon Ladd's late challenge caught a Savanne's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lyndon Ladd helped the player get up and apologised. In the 25th match minute, Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lyndon Ladd to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Academy's Lamar Riddle got a free kick in the 27th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Savanne's zone, Bryan Gann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mark Erickson came out of the goal and Bryan Gann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Bruno Metz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Courtney Bolden was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Bryon Davis struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Courtney Bolden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Savanne. Lamar Riddle struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Mark Erickson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Academy. After having played for 38 minutes, Rey Estes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Academy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rey Estes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bryan Gann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark Erickson having to interfere. A collision led to Savanne getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Michel Foster hit a great ball. 46 minutes into the game, Bruno Metz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Courtney Bolden. Bruno Metz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1.
The wind increased when Lamar Riddle made the kick off in the second half. When Orlando Gunn came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Savanne fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Orlando Gunn couldn't finish the play. Bruno Metz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Courtney Bolden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Courtney Bolden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruno Metz in the 59th minute of the match. When Orlando Gunn came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Savanne fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Orlando Gunn couldn't finish the play. In the 65th minute, Lamar Riddle reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mark Erickson. The goal made the score 1-2. In the 71st minute Bruno Metz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Courtney Bolden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 78th minute Hiram Hamm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Courtney Bolden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th minute, Rey Estes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hiram Hamm in the 81st minute of play forced Academy's goalkeeper Courtney Bolden to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mark Erickson was a little too slow when Lamar Riddle got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 83rd minute. The score was now 1-3. Courtney Bolden stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bruno Metz's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Rey Estes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle went the supporters of Academy were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Savanne side.
