The referee ignored Paris Saint-Germain's protests and gave Bryant Lawson a yellow card for diving instead. Josef Turcotte came out of the goal and Marcus Wilcox tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Alejandro Hamilton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 47 minutes, Eugene Munson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paris Saint-Germain and the Dayton players grew even worse after the yellow card. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mary Lapresse was the one to do the kick off. Kristopher Faulk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Daniel Beaulé made a huge save. Daniel Beaulé made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mary Lapresse in the 54th minute of play. 55 minutes into the match, Dayton's Marcus Wilcox sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Josef Turcotte narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 71st minute, Alejandro Hamilton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Josef Turcotte was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Refugio Neely's late challenge caught a Paris Saint-Germain's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Refugio Neely helped the player get up and apologised. In the 76th match minute, Dayton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Refugio Neely to maneuver through the defense. Paris Saint-Germain's Gérard Choi shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 89th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Daniel Beaulé but with some difficulty. Marcus Wilcox fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josef Turcotte having to interfere. Miles Judd hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. There was no doubt that Dayton were the better team. Dayton's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
