Seating: 1859, VIP seats: 161) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Armando Rochon got the match started through his kick off. Orlando Gunn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arthur Vertefeuille made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Bruno Metz sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruno Metz in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arthur Vertefeuille saved Keewatin from getting behind. When Omer Allaire came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Keewatin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Omer Allaire couldn't finish the play. 26 minutes into the match, Armando Rochon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mark Erickson. Savanne's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armando Rochon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 29 minutes into the match, Keewatin's goalkeeper Arthur Vertefeuille had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hayden Harrison. 33 minutes in the game, Bruno Metz fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Arthur Vertefeuille having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Savanne's zone, Aurelio Darby stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mark Erickson came out of the goal and Aurelio Darby tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Orlando Gunn got free with Arthur Vertefeuille in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Armando Rochon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark Erickson having to interfere. Mark Erickson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pons Powers, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute.
Pons Powers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th match minute, Savanne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Banks to maneuver through the defense. 58 minutes into the match, Armando Rochon notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Savanne's Mark Erickson. Mark Erickson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mark Erickson made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Armando Rochon sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Keewatin booed when Savanne was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eric Banks didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arthur Vertefeuille showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruno Metz, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 75th minute, Armando Rochon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute, Bruno Metz made a precise shot to the right of Arthur Vertefeuille. Keewatin's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Armando Rochon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Mark Erickson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pons Powers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Mark Erickson made a huge save. After 84 played minutes Keewatin got a freekick which was hit by Aurelio Darby. Mark Erickson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Connie McCann in the 87th minute of the match. In the 91st minute Aurelio Darby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark Erickson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, Savanne's Orlando Gunn sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arthur Vertefeuille narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Keewatin eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
