When Rickey Boston fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Athletic Club Academical's protests and gave Rickey Boston a yellow card for diving instead. Rickey Boston hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Rouge Riviere's Abe Bullard got a free kick in the 5th minute. Cyrille Vega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 9th minute of the match, Dannie Sylvester tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bradly Feldman saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ruben Dean during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 10th minute, Ruben Dean hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bradly Feldman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dannie Sylvester, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Athletic Club Academical's Svatomír Kaiser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lech Gdowski in the 21st minute of play. The supporters of Rouge Riviere booed when Athletic Club Academical was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kris Bonneville didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 24 played minutes, Rouge Riviere's Lech Gdowski shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Svatomír Kaiser came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rouge Riviere reached it. In the 29th minute Marcel Dixon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bradly Feldman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bradly Feldman didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Athletic Club Academical's Dannie Sylvester shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Bradly Feldman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dannie Sylvester in the 36th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lech Gdowski in the 40th minute of play forced Athletic Club Academical's goalkeeper Svatomír Kaiser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Lech Gdowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Rouge Riviere's Jackie Levine got a free kick in the 44th minute. In the 46th match minute, Rouge Riviere was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carson Bellefeuille to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dannie Sylvester stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Athletic Club Academical getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Dannie Sylvester hit a great ball. In the 53rd minute, Dannie Sylvester left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Athletic Club Academical fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Dannie Sylvester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abe Bullard kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After 69 played minutes Athletic Club Academical got a freekick which was hit by Rickey Boston. Bradly Feldman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dannie Sylvester in the 71st minute of play. Ernesto Schmitz hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. 74 minutes into the match, Rouge Riviere's Lech Gdowski broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Lech Gdowski took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Svatomír Kaiser. Svatomír Kaiser dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 82nd minute Marcel Dixon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bradly Feldman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Dannie Sylvester made a precise shot to the right of Bradly Feldman. Rouge Riviere's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dannie Sylvester in the 95th minute of play forced Rouge Riviere's goalkeeper Bradly Feldman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Athletic Club Academical players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
