Athletic Club Academical's Svatomír Kaiser proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Athletic Club Academical from getting a goal against them. In the 9th minute Dannie Sylvester shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arthur Vertefeuille saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aurelio Darby hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Fernando Foreman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arthur Vertefeuille read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Arthur Vertefeuille showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dannie Sylvester in the 20th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Athletic Club Academical's zone, Armando Rochon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Svatomír Kaiser came out of the goal and Armando Rochon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rickey Boston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arthur Vertefeuille having to interfere. Pons Powers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pons Powers might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Svatomír Kaiser. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pons Powers ran back to his position shaking his head. Arthur Vertefeuille showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dannie Sylvester, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Arthur Vertefeuille showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dannie Sylvester in the 34th minute of the match. If Aurelio Darby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dannie Sylvester blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arthur Vertefeuille having to make a save. If Pons Powers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dannie Sylvester made a kick off. Keewatin's Arthur Vertefeuille played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dannie Sylvester in the 53rd minute of play. In the 57th minute, Dannie Sylvester got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dannie Sylvester recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 63 played minutes Athletic Club Academical got a freekick which was hit by Dario Drew. Arthur Vertefeuille took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dannie Sylvester, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes into the match, Athletic Club Academical's Dannie Sylvester sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arthur Vertefeuille narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dannie Sylvester in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arthur Vertefeuille saved Keewatin from getting behind. Arthur Vertefeuille didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fernando Foreman went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Arthur Vertefeuille made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dannie Sylvester in the 84th minute of play. Arthur Vertefeuille showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dannie Sylvester in the 85th minute of the match. Athletic Club Academical's Svatomír Kaiser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Rochon in the 87th minute of play. Athletic Club Academical played a much better game than Keewatin and deserved their victory. The Keewatin players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
