Noe Wolf showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johnie Landry in the 10th minute of the match. In the 12th minute, Johnie Landry left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newtown fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Emmanuel Cousteau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute, Margarito Deniger left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newtown fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The audience was convinced that Gavin Dutton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Léonard Hackett was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Tobias Caron kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Noe Wolf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnie Landry in the 39th minute of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josiah Cameron couldn't finish the play. 45 minutes into the match, FC Lepanto 71's goal looked a bit too open when Margarito Deniger came free, but Noe Wolf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Newtown were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Margarito Deniger to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Newtown's zone, Gavin Dutton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Léonard Hackett came out of the goal and Gavin Dutton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raymundo Belisle in the 55th minute of play forced Newtown's goalkeeper Léonard Hackett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Noe Wolf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Margarito Deniger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Newtown's zone, Victor Stratton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Léonard Hackett came out of the goal and Victor Stratton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Margarito Deniger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Noe Wolf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Léonard Hackett showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Léonard Hackett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emmanuel Cousteau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes into the match, Newtown's Margarito Deniger sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Noe Wolf narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tobias Caron recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johnie Landry got free with Noe Wolf in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Noe Wolf came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Newtown's Johnie Landry. But to his dismay, Johnie Landry quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. If Raymundo Belisle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tobias Caron hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Emmanuel Cousteau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Léonard Hackett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Johnie Landry charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Johnie Landry the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Newtown's Johnie Landry got a free kick in the 94th minute. Léonard Hackett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emmanuel Cousteau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Noe Wolf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Margarito Deniger, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. When the match was over Newtown could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Lepanto 71 throughout the match.
