The referee ignored Santos FC's protests and gave Ricky Piedalue a yellow card for diving instead. Lanny Hicks acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 17th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Wilmer Koenig. Val Fair's late challenge caught a Santos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Val Fair helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Santos FC booed when Alucard was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Val Fair didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfonzo Potvin came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Santos FC's Jody Rodrigue. But to his dismay, Jody Rodrigue quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. A collision led to Santos FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Kermit Petit hit a great ball. Alfonzo Potvin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zack Swan in the 32nd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the game, Wilmer Koenig was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alucard's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santos FC the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Alucard fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 33rd minute. Penalty! After having played for 41 minutes, Cleo Smart managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cleo Smart was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cleo Smart struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Alfonzo Potvin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santos FC. 48 minutes into the match, Alucard's goal looked a bit too open when Cleo Smart came free, but Alfonzo Potvin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Gervais Cotton in the 54th minute of play forced Alucard's goalkeeper Alfonzo Potvin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute, Kurt Link fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Cleo Smart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonzo Potvin having to interfere. 60 minutes into the game, Santos FC's Cleo Smart nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfonzo Potvin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Alfonzo Potvin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gervais Cotton, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. 65 minutes into the game, Alucard's Val Fair nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lanny Hicks made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. If Jody Rodrigue had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the match, Alucard's goal looked a bit too open when Ricky Piedalue came free, but Alfonzo Potvin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd match minute, Santos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kurt Link to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 75 minutes, Ricky Piedalue managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricky Piedalue was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ricky Piedalue blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alfonzo Potvin having to make a save.
