Santos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cleo Smart was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Santos FC made a substitution. Gervais Cotton replaced Guadalupe Holliday. Gervais Cotton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurtis Capps having to interfere. If Cleo Smart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kurtis Capps made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Cleo Smart sent off a good shot on target. Santos FC's Jody Rodrigue got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cleo Smart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jody Rodrigue had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cleo Smart received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Kurtis Capps tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gervais Cotton to strike the kick off in the second half. The Santos FC fans' excitement grew in the 54th match minute when Santos FC's Kurt Link looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The referee ignored Santos FC's protests and gave Son Lajoie a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Santos FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 70th minute. Penalty! Santos FC:s Lanny Hicks showed great skill when he stopped Jake Thorne:s penalty. In the 74th minute Cleo Smart shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kurtis Capps saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes into the game, Noe Godfrey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GALATASARAY SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santos FC the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cleo Smart in the 76th minute of play forced GALATASARAY SK's goalkeeper Kurtis Capps to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kurt Link sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
