Spectators: 6838 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1836, VIP seats: 2) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Zachary Fischer kicked off to start the match. 2 minutes into the game, Josiah Cameron was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Newtown's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hopewell AFC the free kick. After 2 played minutes Newtown got a freekick which was hit by Josiah Cameron. Léonard Hackett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zachary Fischer, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. In the 13th match minute, Hopewell AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emory Oakley to maneuver through the defense. Hopewell AFC's Hayden Larson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Margarito Deniger in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, one of Hopewell AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Darwin Crowley shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Hayden Larson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Margarito Deniger in the 22nd minute of play. Johnie Landry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Johnie Landry recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hopewell AFC's Hayden Larson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johnie Landry in the 31st minute of play. Hayden Larson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Margarito Deniger in the 34th minute of play. Hayden Larson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Margarito Deniger in the 35th minute of the match. In the 36th minute Johnie Landry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hayden Larson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hayden Larson came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Newtown's Margarito Deniger. But to his dismay, Margarito Deniger quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 44th minute Margarito Deniger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hayden Larson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Johnie Landry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Margarito Deniger made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Hopewell AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Margarito Deniger came free, but Hayden Larson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Johnie Landry could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Hayden Larson made a huge save. Hayden Larson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tobias Caron in the 57th minute. After 59 played minutes Hopewell AFC got a freekick which was hit by Oren Cabrera. 64 minutes into the match, Newtown's Johnie Landry sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hayden Larson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hayden Larson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Margarito Deniger, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 66th match minute, Hopewell AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cliff Knapp to maneuver through the defense. Hayden Larson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Johnie Landry in the 67th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Margarito Deniger in the 69th minute of play forced Hopewell AFC's goalkeeper Hayden Larson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Léonard Hackett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vito Pryor in the 72nd minute of the match. Léonard Hackett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zachary Fischer, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Margarito Deniger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Johnie Landry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hayden Larson having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Hopewell AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 79th minute. Penalty! 0-2 came through a penalty shot after 81 played minutes, when Newtown:s Darwin Crowley calmly waited for Hopewell AFC:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. When Margarito Deniger came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Newtown fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Margarito Deniger couldn't finish the play. Hopewell AFC's Hayden Larson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johnie Landry in the 88th minute of play. The supporters of Hopewell AFC booed when Newtown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josiah Cameron didn't get a good kick on the ball. Josiah Cameron received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Hayden Larson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Hopewell AFC's Pasquale Dunham got a free kick in the 97th minute. When the match was over Newtown could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Hopewell AFC throughout the match.
