Graham Meyers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the TFC defense, Théophile Oneal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Graham Meyers. The TFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Graham Meyers should have stopped the shot. If Alonso Ochoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. Willard Priest was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Karl Felder capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Karl Felder really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. 28 minutes into the match, Inter Toronto's goal looked a bit too open when Karl Felder came free, but Willard Priest reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 30 minutes, Alonso Ochoa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter Toronto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alonso Ochoa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 31 minutes of play, Inter Toronto's Alonso Ochoa made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Graham Meyers was left in no man's land by his defense there! 36 minutes into the match, Alonso Ochoa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Graham Meyers. TFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alonso Ochoa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. The supporters of Inter Toronto booed when TFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mckinley Kirkpatrick didn't get a good kick on the ball. Otis Hale hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Karl Felder made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Emery Dubois left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The TFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Lincoln McKinney's late challenge caught a TFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lincoln McKinney helped the player get up and apologised. In the 60th match minute, Inter Toronto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lincoln McKinney to maneuver through the defense. If Théophile Oneal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
