The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mitch Ibarra to strike the kick off in the second half. After 69 minutes, Emery Dubois mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the TFC and the Ioco players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bob Mallory during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Graham Meyers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Mckinley Kirkpatrick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Aurelien Langelier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Ioco supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ioco would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
