Spectators: 6849 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1849, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Benoit Cassidy started the match with the kick off. Bobbie Paul received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Antone Lassiter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 5th minute Bobbie Paul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antone Lassiter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Désiré Rudd fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Portage's protests and gave Désiré Rudd a yellow card for diving instead. Antone Lassiter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeffrey Malone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 33 played minutes, Portage's Mike Day shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Antone Lassiter came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Portage reached it. After 40 minutes, Nicodème Dejesus mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Portage and the Anson players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 40 played minutes Portage got a freekick which was hit by Nicodème Dejesus. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Anson's goalkeeper Antone Lassiter, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Antone Lassiter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeffrey Malone in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bobbie Paul made a kick off. Benoit Cassidy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Portage getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Reggie Light hit a great ball. Portage's Nelson Wynn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benoit Cassidy in the 60th minute of play. Jeffrey Malone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bobbie Paul in the 68th minute of play forced Anson's goalkeeper Antone Lassiter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roberto England kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After having played for 80 minutes, Jeffrey Malone managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portage's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jeffrey Malone was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Portage getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Bobbie Paul hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Kyle Benson could shoot a difficult shot in the 87th minute, which Antone Lassiter however easily saved by the left post. Bobbie Paul received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Antone Lassiter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeffrey Malone scored 0-2 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Antone Lassiter, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Antone Lassiter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bobbie Paul, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The Portage players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
