When Brady Donahue fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dawson's protests and gave Brady Donahue a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Dawson's Brady Donahue got a free kick in the 29th minute. When Isiah Marino came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Dawson fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isiah Marino couldn't finish the play. Ambroise Smiley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lyndon Cardona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dawson's Ambroise Smiley proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Dawson from getting a goal against them. Lyndon Cardona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ambroise Smiley having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Isiah Marino was the one to do the kick off. If Lyndon Cardona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Dawson getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Eugenio Conley hit a great ball. In the 58th minute, Isiah Marino made a precise shot to the right of Virgil Wagner. Athabasca AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Régis Primeau charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Tomas Bédard hit a great ball. In the 74th minute of the match Narcisse Bienvenue shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ambroise Smiley showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ambroise Smiley came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Athabasca AFC's Lyndon Cardona. But to his dismay, Lyndon Cardona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Reynaldo Lake hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Dawson's Jeramy Lafond got a free kick in the 89th minute. The Dawson players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Athabasca AFC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
