After having played for 13 minutes, Gérard Duvall managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vampires's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gérard Duvall was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gérard Duvall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 15 minutes, Cleveland Fontaine mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KS.Gornik Zabrze and the Vampires players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vampires's Raoul Roberts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Émile Stanford in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th match minute, KS.Gornik Zabrze was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johnathan Gregg to maneuver through the defense. If Efren Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raoul Roberts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Émile Stanford in the 30th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, KS.Gornik Zabrze's goal looked a bit too open when Efren Varela came free, but Darnell Mosher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Efren Varela's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Darnell Mosher read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Efren Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darnell Mosher having to interfere. After 47 played minutes KS.Gornik Zabrze got a freekick which was hit by Rickey Putnam.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Efren Varela to make the kick off. When Roderick Chauvet came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the KS.Gornik Zabrze fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roderick Chauvet couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Émile Stanford in the 67th minute of play forced Vampires's goalkeeper Raoul Roberts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 69 minutes, Gérard Duvall managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Darnell Mosher prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Émile Stanford blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Raoul Roberts having to make a save. Stacy McClelland's late challenge caught a KS.Gornik Zabrze's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stacy McClelland helped the player get up and apologised. Émile Stanford's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raoul Roberts read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. 98 minutes into the match, Garfield Ruiz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Raoul Roberts. Vampires's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Garfield Ruiz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
