Jason Hay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ed Stephens, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 12th minute of the match Buster Hurt shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jason Hay showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 12th match minute, Trois-Rivières FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mickey Picard to maneuver through the defense. When Ed Stephens came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Venice fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ed Stephens couldn't finish the play. Wilbert Hannah succeeded in the game's 21st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. Wilbert Hannah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rainier Drouin having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Trey Logan put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Rainier Drouin. With his leg Rainier Drouin managed to avoid a goal in the 45thth minute, when Trois-Rivières FC's Wilbert Hannah fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a little luck, Venice's Rainier Drouin got control of the ball when Wilbert Hannah tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 59th minute, Wilbert Hannah got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Trois-Rivières FC booed when Venice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bryan DeGrasse didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mickey Picard hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Margarito Hicks managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venice's supporters rose to their feet, but Margarito Hicks was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jason Hay breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 70th minute Margarito Hicks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jason Hay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Margarito Hicks in the 75th minute of play forced Trois-Rivières FC's goalkeeper Jason Hay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Venice's goal looked a bit too open when Trey Logan came free, but Rainier Drouin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rainier Drouin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilbert Hannah, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trey Logan in the 83rd minute of play forced Venice's goalkeeper Rainier Drouin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Trois-Rivières FC's Mickey Picard got a free kick in the 85th minute. In the 93rd minute, Trey Logan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wilbert Hannah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Trois-Rivières FC booed when Venice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clair Laprise didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mickey Picard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venice players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Trois-Rivières FC.
