The audience thought a goal was coming when Toussaint Buchanan got free with Abe Canales in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Abe Canales made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Toussaint Buchanan sent off a good shot on target.

Toussaint Buchanan's late challenge caught a Rapid Vienna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toussaint Buchanan helped the player get up and apologised. If Toussaint Buchanan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th minute, Toussaint Buchanan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 66th minute, Alexandre Lampron made a precise shot to the right of Abe Canales. Rapid Vienna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Raoul Labrie might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Renard Stovall. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Raoul Labrie ran back to his position shaking his head. Anselme Houser fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renard Stovall having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, Stéphane Teague had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Abe Canales. Rapid Vienna's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stéphane Teague was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Lampron in the 82nd minute of play forced Rapid Vienna's goalkeeper Abe Canales to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raoul Labrie in the 85th minute of play forced Mississauga Mavericks's goalkeeper Renard Stovall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anselme Houser could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Renard Stovall made a huge save. After 95 minutes of play, Rapid Vienna's Anselme Houser made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Renard Stovall was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Mississauga Mavericks had won after a very even match.
