Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sol Gordon came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Mississauga Mavericks's Toussaint Buchanan. But to his dismay, Toussaint Buchanan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Elroy Moser fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renard Stovall having to interfere. Shad Hutchins hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Florencio Moss struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Renard Stovall didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Toronto FC. Fidel Baum struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. In the 53rd minute of the match Lanny Klein shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Renard Stovall showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mississauga Mavericks's zone, Florencio Moss stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Renard Stovall came out of the goal and Florencio Moss tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Alexandre Lampron managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mississauga Mavericks's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexandre Lampron was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sol Gordon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Toussaint Buchanan was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 74th minute. Mississauga Mavericks's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Toronto FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 75th minute, when Alexandre Lampron scored to the left of an out of position Sol Gordon, making the score, 0-3. Sol Gordon made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Toussaint Buchanan sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bart Shipp during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Mississauga Mavericks booed when Toronto FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position.
