A collision led to Laval Canadians getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Tommy Piedalue hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute, Nicky Wilhelm got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicky Wilhelm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Nicky Wilhelm managed to get in a good position for a shot. Granville Valenzuela blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Preston Phillips having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicky Wilhelm in the 30th minute of play forced Laval Canadians's goalkeeper Preston Phillips to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute Hercule Deleon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brooks Stjohn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, Laval Canadians's goal looked a bit too open when Thomas Duncan came free, but Preston Phillips reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Jamaal McIntyre had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Brooks Stjohn. Iceland FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jamaal McIntyre was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 43rdth minute of the game Nicky Wilhelm who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Laval Canadians's Preston Phillips was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Thomas Duncan came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Iceland FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomas Duncan couldn't finish the play. In the 47th minute Granville Valenzuela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Preston Phillips saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hercule Deleon to make the kick off. Preston Phillips showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Granville Valenzuela in the 53rd minute of the match. A collision led to Laval Canadians getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Frederick Fournier hit a great ball. In the 56th minute, Laval Canadians's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nicky Wilhelm fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Thomas Duncan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 66 minutes into the match, Laval Canadians's goalkeeper Preston Phillips had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Timothy Wolf. 68 minutes into the match, Nicky Wilhelm dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Preston Phillips, 1-1. In the 78th minute, Iceland FC's Nicky Wilhelm ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Preston Phillips. Preston Phillips yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. 81 minutes into the match, Laval Canadians's goal looked a bit too open when Timothy Wolf came free, but Preston Phillips reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicky Wilhelm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Preston Phillips having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicky Wilhelm in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Preston Phillips saved Laval Canadians from getting behind. Timothy Wolf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Preston Phillips tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
