After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Jeff Coté managed to get in a good position for a shot. Live Free or Die Hard's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeff Coté was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tracy Bélanger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 11 minutes, Jeff Coté mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Live Free or Die Hard and the MTL Impact players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th match minute, Live Free or Die Hard was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeff Coté to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute, Jourdain Cullen reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Clark Labbé. The goal made the score 1-0. With his leg Clark Labbé managed to avoid a goal in the 19thth minute, when MTL Impact's Leland Trejo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Clark Labbé showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jourdain Cullen, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jourdain Cullen in the 23rd minute of play forced Live Free or Die Hard's goalkeeper Clark Labbé to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the game, Jourdain Cullen recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Clark Labbé. Jourdain Cullen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Jeff Coté received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Tracy Bélanger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Live Free or Die Hard's Alexandre Thomas got a free kick in the 33rd minute. 41 minutes into the match, Live Free or Die Hard's goalkeeper Clark Labbé had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgard Brandon. Edgard Brandon hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. MTL Impact's Tracy Bélanger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roland Labrecque in the 43rd minute of play. Alexandre Thomas hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Alexandre Thomas thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Clark Labbé, a very annoying self made goal in the 51st minute which led to 3-0. After a rather tough play, MTL Impact's George Rogers got a free kick in the 54th minute. Roland Labrecque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tracy Bélanger having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jeff Coté got free with Tracy Bélanger in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 59 minutes into the match, MTL Impact's goal looked a bit too open when Roland Labrecque came free, but Tracy Bélanger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Leland Trejo notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Live Free or Die Hard's Clark Labbé. Clark Labbé was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 67th match minute, MTL Impact was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claude Cuillerier to maneuver through the defense. Jeff Coté received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Tracy Bélanger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tracy Bélanger made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Jeff Coté sent off a good shot on target. With his leg Tracy Bélanger managed to avoid a goal in the 78thth minute, when Live Free or Die Hard's Herb Richer fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Clark Labbé took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leland Trejo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clark Labbé stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leland Trejo's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Jourdain Cullen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Clark Labbé. Live Free or Die Hard's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jourdain Cullen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. 93 minutes into the game, Lamar Nickerson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Live Free or Die Hard's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MTL Impact the free kick. A collision led to Live Free or Die Hard getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Lamar Nickerson hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leland Trejo in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clark Labbé saved Live Free or Die Hard from getting behind. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. MTL Impact had played much better football throughout.
