Spectators: 7960 (Terracing: 6046, Seating: 1854, VIP seats: 60) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Dusty Hoover took the kick off in the first half of the match. With a little luck, Vélez Sarsfield's Terry Temple got control of the ball when Célestin Panetier tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 10th match minute, Vélez Sarsfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nestor Goldsmith to maneuver through the defense. Benjamin Witherspoon, 11 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Terry Temple acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 14th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Onesime Robillard. An unexpectedly hard shot by Colombain Sharp in the 17th minute of play forced Vélez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Terry Temple to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Shillington's Leland Deserres in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vélez Sarsfield's goalie prevented a goal. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vélez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Terry Temple, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vance Migneault in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Simon Turner prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 27 minutes into the match, Vélez Sarsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Colombain Sharp came free, but Terry Temple reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Célestin Panetier scored 1-0 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Terry Temple, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 31 minutes into the match, Shillington's goal looked a bit too open when Dusty Hoover came free, but Simon Turner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Célestin Panetier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Colombain Sharp managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shillington's supporters rose to their feet, but Colombain Sharp was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Terry Temple breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 37 played minutes Vélez Sarsfield got a freekick which was hit by Nestor Goldsmith. When Célestin Panetier came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Shillington fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Célestin Panetier couldn't finish the play. Shillington's Célestin Panetier got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 44 minutes, Colombain Sharp managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shillington's supporters crossed their fingers, but Colombain Sharp was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 48th minute, Dusty Hoover left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vélez Sarsfield fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Colombain Sharp was the one to do the kick off. In the 59th minute Célestin Panetier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Terry Temple saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vélez Sarsfield's Terry Temple played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Colombain Sharp in the 60th minute of play. After 65 played minutes Shillington got a freekick which was hit by Colombain Sharp. Vance Migneault came free with the goalkeeper in the 66th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Simon Turner could save by the left post. Colombain Sharp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terry Temple having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Shillington's Célestin Panetier sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Terry Temple narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Colombain Sharp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Célestin Panetier in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Terry Temple saved Vélez Sarsfield from getting behind. Terry Temple made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Célestin Panetier in the 79th minute of play. Terry Temple stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Célestin Panetier's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Terry Temple made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Colombain Sharp in the 82nd minute of play. Nestor Goldsmith hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. 2-1 became the score in the 88th minute when Colombain Sharp elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Vélez Sarsfield's Terry Temple played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Colombain Sharp in the 91st minute of play.
