The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cameron Fay helped the player get up and apologised. 27 minutes into the game, one of Vélez Sarsfield:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 30th match minute, Vélez Sarsfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nestor Goldsmith to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rdth minute of the game Dusty Hoover who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Aylesford AFC's Marcel Trimble was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vance Migneault sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Duncan Puckett made a kick off. Victor Major recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Aylesford AFC's Duncan Puckett in the 58th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Terry Temple was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Vélez Sarsfield through an amazing save. If Vance Migneault had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite this Marcel Trimble quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Terry Temple made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duncan Puckett in the 83rd minute of play. Victor Major fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terry Temple having to interfere. If Vance Migneault had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Aylesford AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
