Rüştü Rencber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilburn LondeLalonde, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. When Numan Yetkiner came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Thornbury fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Numan Yetkiner couldn't finish the play. Zacarias Fe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Billie Ohara having to interfere. Thibault Crête hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 34 minutes into the game, when Mugurel Grigoriu put in a rough tackle. In the 35th minute, Mugurel Grigoriu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Danilo Boggs did an outstanding performance 37 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 0-2 to the right of an irritated Rüştü Rencber in the goal. Rey Worthington hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. After 47 minutes, Wilburn LondeLalonde mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Woodbridge Strikers and the Thornbury players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 47th minute, Wilburn LondeLalonde hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alwin Kik to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Hong McMullen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rey Worthington was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 64th minute. Woodbridge Strikers's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Rüştü Rencber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilburn LondeLalonde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Woodbridge Strikers booed when Thornbury was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rainer Alexis didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes into the game, Woodbridge Strikers's Rey Worthington nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rüştü Rencber made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. 75 minutes into the match, Thornbury's goal looked a bit too open when Wilburn LondeLalonde came free, but Rüştü Rencber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Woodbridge Strikers's Billie Ohara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alwin Kik in the 83rd minute of play. Woodbridge Strikers's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
