Eli Cox fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santo Henrichon having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Christophe Blanton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santo Henrichon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Donatien Salter kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Jonas Bellamy struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Santo Henrichon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Waterloo Warriors. 30 minutes into the match, Lefroy's goal looked a bit too open when Christophe Blanton came free, but Santo Henrichon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Rodger Léveillé's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Santo Henrichon was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. In the 44th match minute, Lefroy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Wilhelm to maneuver through the defense. Christophe Blanton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Santo Henrichon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodger Léveillé in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christophe Blanton to make the kick off. Santo Henrichon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christophe Blanton in the 52nd minute of play. After 60 minutes, Larry Ratté mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lefroy and the Waterloo Warriors players grew even worse after the yellow card.
